What is #biketoria ?? 

GEOG 491 #biketoria is a new course at UVic lead by both Geography Faculty and City of Victoria staff. Students have the opportunity to work and learn outside of campus, to meet professionals and to play a role in an ambitious project. Students will help shape the City's new protected bike lane network ; safe, accessible to all ages and connecting each neighbourhood in Victoria. 

Students will work on projects focused upon collecting data and studying the city's bike lanes to bring their ideas and experience as beginner or confident cyclists into this unique collaboration between the City and University. 

Following the Civic Studio initiative, the course has been offered in the CRD offices at downtown Victoria for the past 4 weeks, providing a different learning and working experience and encouraging discussions between students and the City staff.
